WRITE, Write, write
This past weekend we experienced the wrath of Hurricane Matthew; the one that was supposed to miss us. Well not only did it not miss us but it hit us pretty hard. Therefore I was indoors most of the time with plenty of time on my hands to think & WRITE.
Which leads me to writing this post. When you do have some down time or you just want to make some down time to unplug from the electronic world, then take the time to write.
Write a letter to someone and really brighten their day. There is nothing like the feeling of getting a hand-written letter or note in the mail; and it sure beats the heck out of getting another bill.
Write a thank-you note to someone for just some little thing they did that brightened your day. They will then thank you for taking the time to hand write a note of thanks.
Write and help your children understand and read and appreciate cursive writing. It is, unfortunately, going the way of the dinosaurs and it needs to be saved. Writing is a valuable tool. Your signature is YOUR signature; it is as unique and individual as you are.
Each person has his or her own personal style. And your signature reflects that – it’s how you write and it’s who you are.
So keep writing & teach your children the value and art of writing. You can write with a ballpoint pen or a pencil or a rollerball pen but the most fun you’ll have is writing with a fountain pen look here. It has that old-fashioned charm. You may write in beautiful, elegant calligraphy or your writing may be just legible but whatever style you have just use it and don’t let it become extinct!
