Return Policy – A Pen Lovers Paradise
PLEASE NOTE: PRE-ORDERS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE. ONCE THE PRE-ORDER PAYMENT HAS BEEN PROCESSED (EITHER BY PAYPAL OR CREDIT CARD) THIS IS TO GUARANTEE YOU WILL GET THE ITEM YOU HAVE ORDERED AND THIS PAYMENT WOULD NOT BE REFUNDABLE. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.
A Pen Lovers Paradise is proud to offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all of our products.
If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it to us for a refund or a replacement. Please see additional instruction information below. Please do NOT simply drop your items in the mail to us before reading ALL of this return policy. There are some exceptions the this rule:
- 1. Any items marked “FINAL SALE” – these items are non-returnable and non-refundable. Once they are purchased they are yours to keep and they cannot be returned for a refund or exchange.
- 2. Paper products including but not limited to stationery sets, notebooks, writing paper, etc. Any paper products that leave the shop cannot be returned for a refund or exchange. There are many different types and styles of paper so please be sure you get what you are looking for when making your purchase. If we can be of help in any way just ask.
- 3. Bottled fountain pen ink ~ Bottled fountain pen ink is not returnable or refundable; it cannot be exchanged for a different bottle/color. The main reason we are unable to accept bottled ink back as a return item is because we have no way of knowing if the ink has been contaminated once it left our possession. We cannot take the risk of selling contaminated ink to another customer. We cannot guarantee the color of these inks; there are websites such as the manufacturers website which should show very accurate swatches of the various inks. There are many sites that show ink samples and ink swatches; however we cannot guarantee that the ink you purchase will look exactly as it appears online. Some may have more or less shading than depicted; some may have more or less sheen and some may have more color saturation or be a lighter color than shown. And some inks may have more shimmer (or less shimmer) than shown on a site. We cannot control what the images look like online. We encourage you to dip test inks in the shop and to research the colors online before making a purchase. And with many of our inks, we have already done a dip test or a swatch for you to go by. And we have no control over the manufacturing or bottling process. Therefore, bottled ink cannot be returned for a refund or replacement or exchange.
- 4. Fountain pen ink cartridges ~to the best of our ability, we will make sure you get the correct cartridges for your pen. However if you purchase cartridges and you have popped one and discover they do not fit your pen or they are the wrong color then those cartridges would not be a returnable item. It is always advisable to bring the writing instrument with you (along with an old refill if possible) when shopping for replacement refills.
Most writing instruments are factory tested and go through QC (quality control). We do not test any of our pens unless it is requested by you that we do so. You are welcome to dip test most pens that we have for sale. We will not offer the more expensive ones for testing unless you are serious about making a purchase. We will do our best to properly inspect/examine any pens before they leave the shop. Of course if there are any issues at all with a pen you have purchased from us, please just reach out to us.
A refund will be issued as a credit back to your credit/debit card if originally paid via that method. The credit must be put back on the same card that was originally used. If you paid by cash then a cash refund will be issued.
All returns must be in the original box (if the item was a boxed item at the time of purchase) with all the original paperwork. Returns that are not accompanied by the box and paperwork (warranty, certificate of authenticity, etc.) that was included in the box will not be accepted and refunds or exchanges will not be issued for these items. Some items are boxed with an inner box and an outer box and we must have both in this instance for the return to be accepted.
A replacement will be sent out the day after the returned item is received by us.
We ask that you pay for the return postage and the additional postage to ship the replacement item. The shipping charges are absolutely non-refundable; so shipping charges that were incurred by you, the customer, will not be refunded. If your purchase qualified for the “free shipping” the actual shipping charges that we incurred on your shipment will be deducted from your refund.
We request that fountain pens be returned without ink in them as this may leak out in the mailing process. NOTE: **When you purchase a fountain pen please test it by dipping it in ink. Please do not fill it with bottled ink or use a cartridge in the pen if you have any doubts about the pen as we cannot accept a fountain pen back for return if it has already been inked.**
**Returns will not be accepted if the item has been damaged or broken in any way or if it has been engraved or an attempt was made to engrave the item and it was damaged.**
Please enclose a note with your return stating the reason for the return and if you would like a refund or a replacement.
Please call us at 757-427-1887 or send us an e-mail to: pam@penloversparadise.com within seven days of receipt of the item you wish to return so that we may be aware of the problem. All returns must have prior approval. You must contact us via phone or e-mail to receive your RAN (return authorization number). Returns will not be accepted without prior approval. There will be absolutely no refunds or exchanges after 30 days from the date of receipt – no exceptions. This includes both purchases made online and purchases made in the shop.
